Whenever the Olympics (or any similar major sporting event) take place, there is a mixture of emotions - interest in some sports and apathy in many others, amazement and horror at the money spent to stage such events, and a realisation again of how much we idolise physical success and perfection. Sometimes I wonder what God thinks of it all.
